Sudan Events – Rehab Abdullah

The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, affirmed the ministry’s willingness to engage all commercial banks that meet the necessary requirements for contracting in order to implement the electronic collection and payment service for government transactions.

During a meeting with a group of banks at the ministry on Thursday, he emphasized the ministry’s commitment to leveraging the widespread presence of banks to facilitate citizen transactions with the government and to enhance the country’s progress toward digital transformation in line with global developments.

The minister stressed the importance of making the service accessible to users of basic mobile phones without requiring internet access. He pointed out that expanding government accounts in commercial banks facilitates direct interaction with the public, reduces risks, and brings benefits to the banking sector.
