High-Level Saudi Delegation Arrives in Port Sudan to Discuss Urgent Projects

A Saudi delegation comprising representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Saudi Development Fund, and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid Center is scheduled to arrive in Port Sudan on Tuesday for a two-day visit.

According to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the delegation will meet with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and economic sector ministries to discuss urgent projects Sudan needs in the coming period.

Meanwhile, Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Ali Youssef, received the Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan bin Jaafar, in his office. The meeting focused on preparations for the Saudi delegation’s visit and assessing the country’s urgent needs in electricity, water, and healthcare sectors, which Saudi Arabia has pledged to support as part of its plan to rebuild war-affected areas in Sudan.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister expressed his country’s gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi government and people for their continuous support for Sudan’s unity, stability, and development efforts.

He also praised the Saudi initiative to send this delegation to assess the war’s damage and provide necessary support to restore vital infrastructure.

The meeting also reviewed the strong bilateral relations between the two countries, with agreements to resume ministerial committee meetings soon and activate bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding in various fields.
