Jaber Directs Provision of Goods for Returnees from Displacement Areas

Member of the Sovereign Council and Assistant to the General Commander, Lieutenant General Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, has reviewed the progress of work at the Ministry of Industry and the arrangements related to the plans and programs aimed at rebuilding factories and infrastructure destroyed by the war.
During a meeting at his office in Port Sudan on Monday with Minister of Industry, Mahasin Ali Yaqoub, Jaber stressed the need to provide essential consumer goods to citizens, particularly those returning from displacement and refugee areas. He praised the emergency plan presented by the ministry to ensure the availability of consumer goods.
Jaber underscored the importance of creating a favorable investment environment in the states to attract investors from within and outside Sudan, and to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing investment in the country.
The meeting also discussed the status of sugar production and the ongoing preparations for the upcoming sugar planting season, including the provision of seeds and the progress of work at the Assalaya and New Halfa sugar factories.
For her part, the Minister of Industry stated in a press release that the meeting addressed the ministry’s performance, its plan, and the challenges hindering the implementation of proposed future programs and activities aimed at securing goods. She highlighted the recent efforts to promote investment in the consumer goods sector.
The minister also referred to the ministry’s efforts to implement its proposed plan regarding agricultural manufacturing and to create all the necessary conditions to establish an attractive investment environment in coordination with state governors.
