Commitments from the Governor of Khartoum to Factory Owners

The Governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman, met with the President of the Industrial Chambers Union, Moawia Al-Breir, to discuss the private sector’s contributions to reconstruction and the revival of economic activity by restoring production facilities.
Al-Breir stated that he came on behalf of the industrial sector to extend congratulations on the victories achieved in Khartoum State.
The meeting addressed several crucial issues related to industrial areas and reconstruction efforts. The governor reassured that the state has put in place security measures to facilitate the return to work and the rebuilding of industrial zones in Bahri, Omdurman, and other areas.
He also pledged to collaborate with federal authorities and the state’s electricity and water administrations to expedite the restoration of these services. Additionally, he emphasized that industrial areas will receive significant attention at this stage, with emergency measures being implemented. In the future, a plan will be developed to establish dedicated field management units for each industrial area in the state.
The governor urged factory owners in secure areas to return and immediately start rehabilitating facilities damaged by the war, thereby reinitiating production.
For his part, Moawia Al-Breir affirmed that the Governor of Khartoum welcomed the factory owners’ initiative and their participation in reconstruction efforts.
He also emphasized the importance of accelerating the process to enable factories to resume production, meet citizens’ needs, and alleviate the hardships caused by the war.
