Details of a Phone Call Between Al-Burhan and Salva Kiir

On Thursday, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, held a phone call with the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit. During the call, Al-Burhan inquired about the situation in South Sudan following recent events in Nasir, wishing the South Sudanese people continued peace and stability.

Al-Burhan reaffirmed Sudan’s support, both from the government and the people, for South Sudan in its efforts to achieve peace and stability. He highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two countries, reflecting their shared destiny. The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council also briefed President Salva Kiir on the latest developments in Sudan, particularly the recent victories achieved by the armed forces in various fronts of the “Battle of Dignity.”
