Metals: Serious Contacts Begin for the Implementation of the Russian Project

The Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Abu Numo, bid farewell on Thursday in Atbara to the committee tasked with inventorying and classifying the assets of the ministry’s headquarters, the General Authority for Geological Research, and its affiliated premises in Khartoum State. The minister wished the committee success in its work, which will begin immediately from Khartoum and includes various departments.
For his part, the Director General of the General Authority for Geological Research, Geological Consultant Ahmed Haroun Al-Tom, confirmed that the authority has lost its informational legacy due to the destruction of the information center and library. He pointed to ongoing efforts to adopt cloud computing during the current phase.
Haroun revealed that serious contacts have begun with some institutions and organizations, including the Russian project, Wuhan University in China, and other entities. He added that over the past period, the authority has built a solid database that includes all old reports, as well as the recovery of information from concession and small-scale mining companies and production agreements, achieving a 100% recovery rate.
