The Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, met on Thursday with a delegation of Nuba community members from South Kordofan State.
He praised the Nuba people’s support for the armed forces in the “Battle of Dignity,” noting that the agreement between Abdulaziz Al-Hilu and the Nairobi Group is void and does not represent the Nuba people, but rather reflects Al-Hilu’s personal position.
Agar stated that the discord between the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) and the armed forces, along with the ignition of the conflict, delayed the implementation of the Juba Peace Agreement. He stressed that the agreement will proceed until its goals are achieved.
For his part, Hassan Abdel Hamid Al-Nour, the head of the delegation, affirmed in a press statement the Nuba people’s support for the armed forces in the “Battle of Dignity” until every inch of the country is liberated from the rebellion and prevented from spreading into South Kordofan State.
He emphasized the importance of implementing the Juba Peace Agreement, which has preserved the lives of the Nuba people and should ensure its benefits extend to South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.
