Government: The Battle’s Goal is the Liberation of Every Inch and Crushing the Militia

The Minister of Information and spokesperson for the government, Khaled Al-Iaesser, stated that the timeline for the battle is the liberation of every inch of land and the crushing of the RSF militia. He confirmed that military operations are linked to liberating the last spot of Sudanese land, reaching West Darfur and the Chadian border.

Al-Iaesser clarified, according to Al Jazeera, that the Sudanese army controls all vital sites in the capital Khartoum and all peripheral neighborhoods. He pointed out that what remains of the RSF supporters are merely unruly gangs with no military capability left. He confirmed that control over the Khartoum state has already been completed “since the announcement by the army’s commander-in-chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, that the state was liberated.”

The minister denied the RSF’s claims that they hadn’t lost any battles, stressing that they were “defeated decisively” and that it is not true that they withdrew. He emphasized that the RSF is no longer as strong as it was when the war began in mid-April 2023, and that their statements are lies.

Al-Iaesser revealed the military plan followed by the armed forces, describing it as a well-coordinated strategy, with the militia being surrounded in several areas, forcing them to flee and abandon their positions.

He pointed out that the military strategy is linked to actions across several axes, starting from Sennar and the Blue Nile, passing through the Gezira state, and eventually reaching Khartoum, then moving through North Kordofan, West Kordofan, and finishing in Darfur with the cities of Geneina and Zalingei, reaching the Chadian borders.
