Sudanese-Turkish Partnership in the Port Sector
The Director-General of the Sudanese Ports Authority, Engineer Consultant Jilani Mohamed Jilani, discussed with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fatih Yildiz, ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of ports and maritime investments.
The Turkish ambassador expressed his country’s desire to establish a strategic partnership with Sudanese ports, including a twinning agreement between the Turkish port of Mersin and Port Sudan, the transfer of Turkish expertise to Sudan, and the opening of a branch of the Turkish Agricultural Bank.
For his part, the Director-General of the Ports Authority welcomed the partnership with Turkey, noting that Sudanese ports are ready to cooperate on new development projects that will benefit the maritime transport sector in both countries.
