The International Court of Justice Begins Hearing Sudan’s Case Against the UAE

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has announced that it will hold public hearings at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the court’s headquarters, on Thursday, April 10, 2025, to examine the case filed by Sudan against the United Arab Emirates on March 5, 2025.

The court stated that the hearings will be dedicated to considering Sudan’s request for the indication of provisional measures mentioned in its application.

It is worth noting that Sudan has filed a case against the United Arab Emirates over alleged violations of its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (“Genocide Convention”) concerning the Masalit community in Sudan, particularly in West Darfur.
