Sudan Events – Agencies

The Ministry of Energy and Oil has revealed that crude oil from South Sudan has passed through the Al-Ailafoun pumping station and is on its way to Bashayer Port in the Red Sea State in preparation for export.

Engineer Mohamed Saleh Othman, head of the pipeline reactivation committee at the Ministry of Energy, stated to Ultra Sudan that South Sudan’s crude has passed Al-Ailafoun and is currently heading to the Al-Mahmiyya pumping station, from where it will flow into the export pipeline leading to Bashayer Port in Port Sudan.

In the same context, a diplomatic source in the Government of South Sudan told Ultra Sudan that South Sudan resumed oil pumping shortly after notifying Sudan of the end of the force majeure situation. The source expects the oil to reach Bashayer Port before the end of April. He added that the first shipment of oil produced from blocks 4 and 7 will be exported at the beginning of May 2025.

The source confirmed that oil exports will help ease the economic crisis facing the country.
