“Joint Forces”: The Call for Citizens to Leave El Fasher Is a Cover-Up for the Militia’s Defeat

The Joint Force of the Armed Struggle Movements stated that the call made by El-Hadi Idris and Al-Tahir Hajar for citizens to leave El Fasher towards areas under their control is aimed at covering up the defeat of their ally, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.

According to “Ultra Sudan,” the official spokesperson for the Joint Force, Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, affirmed that these calls are merely an attempt to mask the crushing defeat suffered by the RSF.

He added, “We have defeated the Janjaweed in over two hundred battles before and broke their core strength. We eliminated most of their field commanders at the gates of El Fasher. So we have no fear of the newly mobilized fighters who are being forcibly recruited.”

He pointed out that the call for citizens to leave El Fasher was previously made by the former governor of North Darfur, Nimir Mohamed Abdulrahman, a year ago while he was in office, so it’s not a new matter.

He continued, “Those who cannot protect themselves cannot protect others. If protection is truly the concern, then it should be directed at their forces, which have suffered multiple attacks by their own backers—the latest of which was in Kabkabiya locality,” he said.

Mustafa emphasized that the armed forces, the Joint Force, the popular resistance, mobilized fighters, and the women of El Fasher (Kandakat and Mayarem) are all committed to defending the city and its steadfast citizens.

He added, “El Fasher is doing well and will remain so. It will be the starting point for cleansing the rest of Darfur’s cities and other Sudanese towns.”
