Activation of the Standards Office: 150 Incoming Shipments via Port Sudan Airport

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Authority, Red Sea Sector, announced the inspection of 150 incoming shipments through Port Sudan International Airport during the recent period. These included electrical appliances, medical equipment, seeds, live animals, cosmetics, perfumes, spare parts, and textiles.
The sector’s director, Engineer Walid Mohamed Osman, confirmed that all shipments underwent technical procedures in accordance with the approved standards. He pointed out the activation of the Authority’s office at Port Sudan Airport, as most imports, which used to pass through Khartoum Airport, are now routed through Port Sudan due to the exceptional circumstances the country is facing, in addition to the seaports and land entry points.
This is part of the Authority’s efforts to protect consumers and ensure the quality of goods.
