Northern State Moves Toward Industrial Mineral Exploration

The Governor of Northern State, Abdeen Awadallah, met today with the Director of the Geological Research Authority’s branch in the state, Senior Geologist Consultant Mudathir Rajab Ahmed.
The meeting discussed how to explore and utilize the state’s mineral resources.
The Governor emphasized the Authority’s role in supporting the mining sector, contributing to the economy, and boosting mining and investment activities.
In a statement to SUNA, the Senior Geologist explained that he briefed the Governor on the Authority’s plan to explore industrial minerals in the state such as marble, Nubian stone, and zeolite—a mineral used in fertilizer production and agriculture—with the goal of increasing both state and national income.
He added that the plan also includes updating the industrial mineral map of the state.
