Livestock Wealth: Government Strategy to Increase Meat Exports

On Wednesday, Minister of Livestock, Mohamed Haroun, inspected the Suakin Veterinary Quarantine for livestock exports in the Red Sea State.

During a meeting that included the General Directorate of Quarantines and Meat Health, the Suakin locality, the Suakin local police, the economic security, and representatives of livestock exporters, the Minister reviewed the procedures followed in the export process. He also inspected the veterinary laboratories and listened to observations and challenges.

The Minister stated that his ministry is confronting these challenges during a period of significant transformation.

He praised the efforts of the General Directorate of Quarantines and Meat Health, as well as livestock exporters, despite the difficult conditions brought on by the war.

He said, “We recognize and appreciate the efforts made by them. You have achieved high numbers, contributing significantly to the public treasury. The employees of this ministry are making commendable efforts.”

He added, “In the coming phase, we aim to support producers and advance workers across all sectors.”

The Minister described these efforts as substantial work within a clear ministry strategy for the upcoming period to increase meat exports.
