Qatari Leadership Informs Burhan of Their Support for Sudan

The President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, expressed Sudan’s appreciation for Qatar’s supportive stance in all international and regional forums and its continuous support for those affected by the war.

On Thursday, Al-Burhan met with the Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misned, and her accompanying delegation.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, stated in a press release that the Qatari delegation carried a message of solidarity, appreciation, and support from the Qatari leadership.

He pointed out that the delegation’s visit includes field visits to various sites and shelter centers to assess the extent of the suffering caused by the militia.

For her part, the Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation emphasized that the delegation’s visit to Sudan aims to assess the humanitarian conditions faced by the Sudanese people.

She reiterated the commitment of Qatari humanitarian organizations to provide support and implement projects in various humanitarian fields to mitigate the negative impacts of the conflict. She mentioned that previously, approximately $86 million had been allocated to meet urgent needs in Sudan.

The Qatari minister announced the allocation of $10 million for an initiative to support women in conflict areas and empower them socially and psychologically.

She added that today, support is being provided to the health sector with the second batch of ambulances, in addition to the provision of dialysis machines.
