Loss of 884 Tons of Copper from Sudan Gold Refinery

On Friday, Minister of Minerals Mohamed Bashir Abu Namou inspected the damaged facilities and branches of the ministry in Khartoum State. He was accompanied by the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Othman Hamza, and a high-level delegation from the mining sector, including Geological Consultant Ahmed Haroun Al-Toum, Director General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company Mohamed Taher Omar, Director of SudanMin Company Mahdi Hussein, Director of the Sudan Gold Refinery, and heads of the Mining Security Police and the Economic Security of Minerals.
The tour included visits to the headquarters of the Ministry, the General Authority for Geological Research, Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Ariab Mining Company, SudanMin, Sudan Gold Refinery, and the Mining Security Police Department.
The minister and his accompanying delegation reviewed the extent of the damage inflicted on these vital institutions as a result of recent military operations.
Accompanied by the Governor of Khartoum, the minister also visited the Republican Palace and Riyadh Police Station, where he extended congratulations to the Armed Forces and joint forces on the liberation of the capital. He emphasized that these victories mark a pivotal turning point in restoring state authority and enforcing its sovereignty. He also visited several social solidarity kitchens.
Abu Namou confirmed that Khartoum is now enjoying security, and the return of government institutions and citizens is imminent. He praised the technical and administrative committees that have begun documenting assets and organizing files with high professionalism and readiness. He called for continued operations until the country is fully cleared of rebel remnants.
