Russia: Committed to Supporting Sudan in International Forums

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced his country’s readiness to consider increasing the number of scholarships offered to Sudanese students, if there is a genuine need, as part of Russia’s ongoing support for capacity building in Sudan and the strengthening of cooperation in education and training.

During his meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Youssef on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s steadfast support for Sudan and its commitment to backing the Sudanese government in international forums, especially at the UN Security Council.

The Sudanese Foreign Minister provided a detailed briefing on the situation in Sudan, highlighting the recent military victories achieved by the Sudanese Armed Forces, most notably the regained control over the capital, Khartoum.

He emphasized the Sudanese government’s commitment to restoring security and stability throughout the country.
