Increased Wheat Productivity in the Gezira Scheme

The Governor of the Gezira Scheme, Ibrahim Mustafa, confirmed an increase in wheat productivity within the Scheme. He pointed out that the rise in average wheat production was the result of combined efforts by the state, led by the President of the Sovereignty Council, General Ibrahim Jaber, the Ministers of Finance and Agriculture, and the Governor of Gezira State.

The project’s governor also affirmed that the full dues for wheat seed payments had been disbursed to farmers after the completion of the harvesting operations.

In the Ma’touq section, Hujairat office, 700 feddans of wheat seed were harvested as part of a plan to resettle the seeds that had been looted from the Gezira Scheme’s storage facilities by the Rapid Support Forces militia.

The Governor of Gezira, Taher Ibrahim Al-Khair, announced the establishment of a fund to support indebted farmers and assist them in benefiting from the added value of agricultural crops, aiming to restore the Gezira region as a driving force of the national economy.
