Messi Boosts MLS Attendance to Record Numbers

Several matches in Major League Soccer (MLS) have witnessed record-breaking attendance numbers since Argentine superstar Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023.

Three of Inter Miami’s away matches in the league have seen unprecedented crowd sizes in the history of the hosting clubs, thanks to Messi’s immense fame and extraordinary talent.

The most recent example occurred this past Sunday during the match between Chicago Fire and Inter Miami in the eighth round of the league’s Eastern Conference. That game, held at Soldier Field—Chicago Fire’s home ground—ended in a goalless draw and was attended by approximately 62,358 fans, a record in the club’s history.

This match was not the only one to see record-breaking attendance since Messi’s arrival. The same happened on two previous occasions.

The first of these matches took place just the day before yesterday at Arrowhead Stadium, home to Sporting Kansas City.

That match attracted 72,610 fans, who were lucky to witness Messi shine, as he scored a goal that contributed to Inter Miami’s 3-2 victory over the home team.
