The Strategic Initiative Network for Women in the Horn of Africa, “Sayha,” revealed horrific crimes of rape and abduction committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during their attack on the Zamzam displacement camp in North Darfur.
The network reported that 8 women arrived in El Fasher and reported being raped inside the camp on April 13. Eyewitnesses confirmed that RSF members abducted at least 25 women and girls using military vehicles.
The network expressed its sorrow at the killing of two volunteers who were overseeing community kitchens at the camp with support from “Sayha,” emphasizing that targeting civilian workers highlights the grave threat faced by civilians in Darfur.
