A Civilian Model..!!

By: Al-Taher Satti
:: Thanks to God, and then to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the conspirators’ conference in London collapsed. The UAE Foreign Ministry had no better response than to declare: “Forming an independent government led by civilians is the only way to bring about real change in Sudan. The armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces do not represent the Sudanese people and neither can bring stability to Sudan.” ..!!
:: With this naïve and irresponsible statement, the UAE government officially admits and acknowledges its blatant interference in Sudanese affairs — to the extent that it now determines the type and system of governance for the Sudanese people (independent and civilian-led). All that’s left is for it to name the Prime Minister, cabinet members, governors, and local commissioners — and perhaps they’ll do that too later on..!!
:: That said, the UAE government did well to choose a system of governance for the Sudanese people, who clearly cannot choose for themselves. Were it not for the UAE, the Sudanese would never have known about things like democracy, independence, and civilian rule in politics — we were living in deep ignorance. All we need now is for the UAE to send us an envoy to teach our people the basics of “civility”..!!
:: Indeed, the Sudanese people are in need of Emirati teachers — specialized in “civility” — to teach them democracy and how to practice it. The October Revolution of 1964 didn’t teach them, nor did April 1985, nor even December 2019. All these revolutions failed to teach our people the democratic and civil freedoms the UAE now imposes by virtue of its expertise, knowledge, and practice..!!
:: But please, be gentle with this novice people stepping into the world of freedom and civility. We urge the UAE to gradually introduce them to this new realm of democracy. A good starting point would be the Emirati Civilian Model, beginning with the announcement and formation of a “Government of Al-Burhan”. Noting, of course, that Burhan has brothers, uncles, and cousins who can inherit power in the most civil of ways..!!
:: As for the claim in the UAE statement that our army does not represent us — that’s actually true. It seems the UAE has grasped the post-Janjaweed war realities and realized there’s no longer a “people” in Sudan for the army to represent. That’s because the people themselves have become the army. The UAE is right — and thanks to whoever informed them that today, the proud cry of our people is a practical declaration: “We are all the army.” (Well — all except the agents of this phase)..!!
:: As for the RSF militia of the Al-Daqlo clan not representing our people — this is an undeniable truth. Yes, the Al-Daqlo terrorist militia represents neither a people, nor a region, nor a tribe. Had it represented any social component, their coup wouldn’t have failed, they wouldn’t be pariahs at home and exiled abroad, their backers wouldn’t have fled to safe havens, and the UAE wouldn’t have stripped them of legitimacy — surely realizing it had bet on the losing horse..!!
