Russian Companies Invest in Sudan

A group of Russian companies has expressed interest in investing in Sudan across various sectors, most notably agriculture, infrastructure, energy and related services, airport construction and operations, as well as aviation equipment and civil aviation.

Sudanese Minister of Finance, Dr. Gibril Ibrahim, affirmed the government’s interest in enhancing economic cooperation with Russia and elevating it to broader horizons to serve mutual interests. During his meeting on Thursday with Russian Ambassador to Sudan, Andrei Chernovol, accompanied by several representatives of Russian companies led by businessman Shamadanov, and in the presence of Planning Undersecretary Dr. Bashar, the minister welcomed the proposed Russian investments and pledged to study the suggested fields and align them with Sudan’s priorities for the reconstruction and development phase.

The two sides agreed to hold a joint ministerial committee meeting in Sudan in the near future to boost economic cooperation between the two countries and prepare comprehensively for the requirements of Russian investments, in coordination with the national private sector.
