The Sudanese General Intelligence Service has dismantled the largest network for trafficking the chemical drug “Captagon.”
The operation, carried out by the Anti-Crime Department of the Counter-Terrorism Division in the city of Port Sudan, led to the seizure of 815 kilograms of various types of drugs—marking the largest bust in recent times—as well as weapons and ammunition in the possession of the network’s members.
The head of the intelligence division stated in a press briefing that these operations are part of the General Intelligence Service’s efforts, alongside specialized police departments, to enhance community safety and combat the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking, under a national strategy aimed at protecting the country from this serious threat.
