Meeting Discusses the Role of Standards in Monitoring the Shelf Life of Goods in the Senar Markets

The acting governor of Senar, Major General (retired) Al-Zubair Hassan Al-Sayed, emphasized the importance of standards and metrology in protecting the national economy and safeguarding consumers.
The governor met with Engineer Sami Bashir Mohamed Ali, the Director of the Standards and Metrology Branch in Senar State, at his office in Singa.
The meeting discussed the role of standards and metrology in regulating markets and monitoring the shelf life of consumer goods, as well as everything related to usage that needs to comply with Sudan’s standards and specifications.
The Director of the Senar branch of Standards and Metrology explained that the organization works in various fields that serve the safety of citizens and protect them from using and consuming goods and materials that do not comply with specifications.
Sami also mentioned that the meeting discussed the importance of establishing dry ports in the state, which would enhance the role of standards and metrology in regulating the movement of trade and goods as part of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization’s efforts to strengthen the oversight of goods and services, ensuring they meet the required standards.
