Member of the Sovereignty Council and Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jaber, described the relationship between Sudan and Mauritania as strong, historic, distinguished, and stable.
During his meeting on Sunday at his office in Port Sudan with the Mauritanian parliamentary delegation headed by Dr. Mustafa Suhaib, he praised the supportive positions of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania towards Sudan in regional and international forums.
For his part, the head of the Mauritanian parliamentary delegation said: “This visit comes in support of the Sudanese government and state institutions, and as a show of solidarity with the Sudanese people in the war the state is waging against the rebel militia.” He added, “We have firm belief that Sudan will prevail, return to its former state, and that every inch occupied by the militia will be reclaimed by the Sudanese state.”
The head of the delegation also remarked that it was a fortunate coincidence their visit comes as the country is witnessing major victories, with Khartoum and most states returning to the national fold after being liberated from the terrorist rebel militia. He expressed hope that Sudan will see further security, stability, peace, and development.
