Strategic Partnership Between Islamic Countries’ Contractors and the Islamic Development Bank

As part of efforts to strengthen mutual cooperation between the Federation of Contractors from Islamic Countries and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), a delegation from the Federation, led by Eng. Zakaria Al-Abdulqader, President of the Federation, along with Vice President Sharif Wahbi and Executive Director Dr. Malik Dengla, held a fruitful meeting with Mr. Amer Mir, Director of the Procurement Department at the IsDB headquarters in Jeddah.
Dr. Malik Dengla, Executive Director of the Federation, stated that the meeting emphasized granting priority and preferential treatment to contractors affiliated with the Federation in IsDB-funded projects. This is intended to enhance their opportunities and develop their capabilities in line with the sustainability and quality standards adopted by the Bank.
He noted that the meeting included important discussions on organizing training courses and specialized seminars aimed at capacity building for Federation members, with a focus on innovation and sustainability in the construction sector, as well as enhancing contractors’ competencies to meet the demands of the global market.
Dr. Dengla also highlighted Mr. Amer Mir’s reaffirmation of the Islamic Development Bank’s continued support for the Federation and its full endorsement of its initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development. He pointed to the importance of the strategic partnership between both parties in developing infrastructure across member countries.
The Federation’s delegation expressed their deep appreciation to the IsDB for its ongoing support, affirming their eagerness to expand cooperation through the implementation of joint projects that contribute to the developmental goals of Islamic countries.
It is worth mentioning that this meeting is part of a series of preparatory meetings held by the Federation in anticipation of the upcoming General Assembly, scheduled to be held in Algeria in May.
