The Path to Reform Is Not Without Thorns

Ali Karti, Secretary-General of the Sudanese Islamic Movement, responded to statements attributed to him by saying that it is the destiny of those with principles to stand tall in the face of all attempts to bring them down, remaining firm on the truth and committed to giving and loyalty.
He added in a statement:
“It is our destiny in the leadership of the Islamic Movement to align ourselves with truth and duty, fully aware of the gravity of our responsibility and its burdens, believing that the path to reform is not without thorns and challenges. Though Satan is weak, he threatens: ‘I will sit in wait for them on Your straight path,’ but God’s overwhelming will soon destroys his plots. ‘Indeed, My servants – no authority will you have over them.’ God is our protector and trustee. He surrounds them from all sides.”

He continued:
“We will not be shaken by the false tales of those with malicious intent, who slander us and fabricate stories and situations that have no relation to our beliefs or our faith in unity and solidarity. They seek to obstruct our progress and weaken our ranks out of envy and ignorance of our project’s nature. We have dedicated our time and efforts to God, sold ourselves to Him – and God has purchased. Our conviction in His promise remains firm: ‘They will not harm you except for [some] annoyance,’ and those who wronged will soon know their fate.”
