A special unit from the Intelligence Branch of the First Sector of the Central Reserve Forces in Omdurman raided a house in Ombadda, Block 16, used by the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia as a storage site for military equipment. The Reserve Force secured all contents of the cache.
According to the Police Press Office, the operation was based on intelligence received by the General Directorate of Security Police through the First Sector’s Intelligence Branch of the Central Reserve Forces in Omdurman. The information indicated that the rebel militia in western Omdurman was using the house in Ombadda Block 16 to store weapons, ammunition, and military supplies prior to the liberation of Khartoum.
Acting on this, a force led by an officer from the sector’s intelligence raided the designated house and seized:
15 82mm mortar shells with their accessories (tripod and base plate)
16 RPG rounds
20 RPG propellant charges
2 “Obli” rifles
20 fuses for B10 recoilless rifles
1 handheld field scope
1 telescopic sight for a 23mm cannon
5,000 DShK heavy machine gun rounds
3,000 PKM (Goryunov) rounds.
Legal procedures were taken within the relevant jurisdiction.
