A human rights observatory reported on Tuesday that it has documented the burial of approximately 203 people killed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in the city of Al-Malha, North Darfur State.
In a statement received by “Sudan Tribune,” the Al-Malha Center for Human Rights said: “More than a month after the RSF attack on Al-Malha, 203 individuals killed by the militia have been buried in various areas of the city.”
It stated that a large number of civilians were killed inside their homes or while attempting to flee the city, including women, children, and the elderly.
The statement also revealed that many individuals are still missing and their whereabouts remain unknown. It accused the RSF militia of carrying out systematic impoverishment through looting of markets and homes, as well as deliberate destruction, including the burning of homes and markets.
The statement further noted that over 98% of the city’s residents—equivalent to around 110,000 families—have been displaced to nearby villages and areas. They are now living in extremely dire humanitarian conditions due to the lack of food, water, and shelter, with almost no humanitarian aid available. The collapse of commercial activity adds to the crisis, warning of a looming disaster if the situation continues unchanged.
