Eyewitnesses from Nyala, the capital of South Darfur, confirmed on Thursday the kidnapping of Abdulhamid Omar Kasha by unidentified armed men.
One witness told Darfur24 that a group of four armed men in a Hilux vehicle intercepted Abdulhamid Omar on Tuesday afternoon near Al-Waha Grocery as he was returning from the market and took him to an unknown location.
A relative of the kidnapped man, speaking anonymously, said the family filed a report with the central Nyala Police Department and informed all relevant security agencies, holding them accountable for his safety.
In another incident, Amin Adam reported that his 12-year-old son, Mohammed, has been missing since last Thursday and has not returned home. He stated they searched all police stations and hospitals with no success.
These incidents indicate a resurgence of kidnappings and enforced disappearances in Nyala, a phenomenon that had subsided in recent times.
