El-Fasher: The Harvest of the Janjaweed

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia continues its systematic targeting of unarmed civilians in the city of El-Fasher, North Darfur, in blatant defiance of UN resolutions and condemnations. On Tuesday, the militia bombarded all neighborhoods of the city with dozens of heavy howitzer and mortar shells throughout the day, resulting in the martyrdom of 23 civilians and the injury of 10 others, who were transported to medical centers for treatment.
Janjaweed Flee:
On the military front, the 6th Infantry Division reported that the Sudanese Armed Forces successfully blocked a rebel militia force attempting to escape through the village of Tabeldiyah north of El-Fasher. Fierce clashes ensued, leading to the death of dozens of militia members and the destruction of three four-wheel-drive Land Cruisers. The remaining fighters fled west of El-Fasher. Tuesday witnessed mass desertions among the militia ranks due to sustained pressure from the armed forces, the joint forces, police, intelligence units, mobilized citizens, and the popular resistance, which continues to actively sweep and clear militia hideouts.
The division stated that the armed forces made significant advances on all fronts, capturing new positions previously used by the militia as artillery bases. Morale among troops remains high, bolstered by confidence in victory.
In its press briefing, the division confirmed the martyrdom of 23 civilians, including women and children, and the injury of 10 others, due to the militia’s terrorist bombardment of the city.
Militia Spreads Lies:
The division denied the militia’s claims of controlling 90% of El-Fasher, calling it a blatant lie and fabrication, asserting that the RSF does not even control 9% of the city. It also stated that circulated videos are outdated and actually from the streets of Khartoum, not El-Fasher.
It added that El-Fasher’s streets are characterized by trees such as Heglig, Sial, and Haraz—not the palm trees seen in Khartoum. The division warned citizens not to be misled by such rumors and urged them not to leave the city.
The forces reaffirmed their complete control over the situation in El-Fasher, likening their work to that of a beehive in their efforts to defend the city, promising that victory is near, God willing. They paid tribute to the martyrs and prayed for the swift recovery of the wounded and the safe return of the captives.
Al-Baraa Commander Threatens Militia:
In a new development, Musbah Abu Zaid, commander of the Al-Baraa Bin Malik Corps, issued a warning to the RSF, tweeting:
“After we liberate Nyala, Ed Daein, and El Geneina from the Janjaweed occupation, we can then discuss whether to attack their supporters before or after the rainy season.”
Hilal Mocks the Dagalo Brothers:
Meanwhile, Musa Hilal, leader of the Mahamid tribe, mocked RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti) and his brother Abdel Rahim. In a speech delivered to a crowd in the area of Mistiriyha in Kutum locality, North Darfur, Hilal said:
“Anyone who thinks Hemedti will rule Sudan is delusional and needs a reality check. He’s just dreaming.”
Hilal affirmed the government’s ability to resolve the conflict, noting Sudan’s strong foreign relations with major powers, while accusing the rebel militia of clinging to the UAE.
Hilal declared that Sudan does not need the “tiny state” of the UAE, describing it as a “source of harm to Muslims and Arab countries.” He blamed the UAE for the crises in Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Libya.
He further warned that the UAE’s time will come, accusing it of executing the agendas of Jews and Israelis against the people. He called on the UAE to correct its course and return to the Arab and Muslim world.
Tribal Bypass Attempt:
Hilal accused Hemedti and Abdel Rahim of attempting to co-opt members of the Mahamid tribe, particularly the Um Jaloud branch. He addressed the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, his deputies, and military leadership, affirming that the people of Darfur stand with the government in eliminating the rebellion, and stressed that Darfur will not tolerate deception and lies.
