North Kordofan Governor Chairs Emergency Committee Meeting for the Success of the Agricultural Season
Mr. Abdel Khaleq Abdel Latif, Governor of North Kordofan, affirmed the state government’s readiness and commitment to mobilize resources to ensure the success of the 2025 agricultural season.
This came during his chairing of the first meeting of the Emergency Committee for the Success of the Agricultural Season, held yesterday in the Council of Ministers hall. The meeting reviewed the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources’ plan for the 2025 agricultural season, the ongoing efforts in the state to ensure its success, and the practical steps required to meet the season’s demands.
Engineer Ibrahim Hamid Mohamed, Director-General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources and Acting Minister, stated that the committee reviewed the agricultural plan and preparations for the upcoming season. The discussion covered the agricultural process inputs, services provided to farmers, and measures taken to secure the season.
He also noted that the committee reviewed the impact of the war on agricultural activities in the localities of Al-Rahad and Umm Rawaba, as well as the destruction that affected the Khor Abu Habl agricultural project, and the remedies that have been implemented.
The Director-General reassured farmers that banks and financial institutions are ready to support the agricultural season and provide the necessary funding. He also pointed to the ministry’s and state government’s efforts to provide inputs and agricultural seeds, stressing that the expansion of cultivated land contributes to increased agricultural production.
