WFP: Funding Shortage Threatens Food Support for Sudanese

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The World Food Programme has warned it is facing a funding shortfall that could impact its ability to provide support to those facing severe food shortages in Sudan within weeks.

The UN agency said it might be forced to reduce the number of people it can assist in the country starting in May if it does not receive more funding from donors.

The programme is seeking $698 million to help 7 million people from May to September.
