Inspection of 68 Goldsmith Shops in New Halfa and Khashm El Girba

The Precious Metals Stamping Inspection Unit in Kassala carried out inspection and awareness campaigns in both New Halfa and Khashm El Girba. The campaigns included delivering educational messages to goldsmiths, distributing informational brochures to shops and customers, and providing the owners of commercial shops with guidelines for the display and sale of precious metals.

Mohamed Awad, head of the unit, explained that 68 goldsmith shops and 3 workshops were visited. Violations related to weight discrepancies were found in 34 shops, involving a total of 3,564.7 grams, and commitments were obtained from the shop owners to correct the weights in accordance with the law.

Engineer Al-Wali Mohamed Mudawi, Director of the Branch, pledged that inspection and awareness campaigns would continue across various sectors to protect consumers, safeguard the national economy, and promote local production.
