Activists revealed that the Rapid Support Forces militia has occupied medical care facilities in the Salah area, south of Omdurman in Khartoum State, preventing civilians from receiving treatment there.
This move came just one day after Rapid Support Forces fighters executed dozens of civilians in Salah, also preventing the victims’ families from approaching the bodies or burying them, while imposing a strict curfew that prohibited citizens from leaving their homes to fetch food and water.
The Salah Resistance Committees stated in a statement that “the Rapid Support Forces occupied all healthcare facilities and converted them into military hospitals to treat their wounded.”
The committees pointed out that the forces prevented residents from receiving treatment or entering medical centers, thereby depriving thousands of civilians of their basic right to healthcare.
The statement also revealed that four deaths from cholera have been recorded, with expectations of a rise in the number of cases due to the lack of medical and humanitarian interventions.
