Official Denies Radiation Leak from the Oncology Hospital

The Director of the National Cancer Treatment Center, Dafallah Abu Idris, denied reports of a radiation leak from the Khartoum Oncology Hospital, also known as the “Nuclear Hospital,” located in the center of the capital.

Dafallah Abu Idris stated in a statement that “there has been no radiation leak from the Oncology Hospital after it was liberated.”

He mentioned that the National Cancer Center confirmed there was no radiation leak after thorough inspection, scrutiny, and evaluation by specialized technical teams responsible for the radiation therapy equipment at the hospital.

Dafallah Abu Idris further clarified that no clinical symptoms were observed among the citizens or workers in the area near the hospital indicating exposure to intense radiation.

He also noted that the deaths near or inside the hospital were the result of direct battles, which led to the killing of Rapid Support Forces personnel, and he urged citizens not to pay attention to malicious rumors.
