
The Vice President of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, reviewed the overall situation in the Blue Nile region, particularly humanitarian, security, service, and agricultural matters.
During his meeting at his office in Port Sudan on Monday, he pledged to Governor of the Blue Nile region, Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing the summer agricultural season and the voluntary return of the region’s citizens.
The meeting discussed proposed solutions to address the irregular return of citizens from South Sudan and the importance of coordination and joint work between relevant parties to ensure the provision of services in the region and to ensure the success of safe returns.
The meeting also addressed the regional government’s preparations for the upcoming secondary school exams and the removal of all technical and administrative obstacles, in addition to preparations for the start of the new academic year in the region.
On his part, the Governor of the Blue Nile region, in a press statement following the meeting, mentioned that he briefed the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council on the overall situation in the region and the stability achieved across its seven governorates, especially after the victories achieved by the armed forces and their allied forces, as well as the defeat of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and other rebel militias. He pointed out the government’s determination to secure all regional borders with South Sudan, particularly the western and southern borders.
He also indicated that the meeting discussed the region’s plan for the upcoming summer agricultural season, which aims to cultivate more than 5 million acres. He emphasized that the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council confirmed the government’s commitment to overcoming all challenges and supporting the agricultural season by providing improved seeds, production inputs, and electricity.
