6th Infantry Division Repels Attack on El Fasher, Announces Death of Assault Leader

Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al-Khidir, Commander of the 6th Infantry Division in the city of El Fasher, announced that his forces, with the support of allied troops, successfully repelled the 208th attack launched by the Al-Dagalo militia on El Fasher on Monday through four fronts.

In an official statement, Major General Al-Khidir explained that the battle began at 8:00 AM and lasted for over seven hours. The militia used heavy machinery, artillery, armored vehicles, and drones in an attempt to breach the city’s defenses and target displaced persons’ camps and civilian homes.

He added that the Armed Forces confronted the assault with courage and efficiency, inflicting heavy losses on the militia in both personnel and equipment—including the killing of the assault’s commander and many fighters recruited for money.

The division commander affirmed that the city of El Fasher will remain steadfast and resistant to infiltration and sabotage attempts. He emphasized that the Armed Forces are at the highest level of readiness and remain committed to defending the city and its people until victory is achieved or martyrdom is attained.
