Sovereign Council President Meets Gezira Scheme Governor
On Wednesday, the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met with the Gezira Scheme Governor, Engineer Ibrahim Mostafa.
Following the meeting, Mostafa stated that he briefed the Sovereign Council President on the project’s performance and the challenges faced after the liberation of Gezira State, as well as the ongoing preparations to rehabilitate the project’s infrastructure for the upcoming agricultural season.
He noted that the President affirmed the government’s readiness to overcome all obstacles by supporting the Emergency Fund for infrastructure repairs and providing the equipment needed to rehabilitate and clean irrigation canals to spur agricultural revival in Sudan.
The Governor added that the strong support received from the Sovereign Council leadership would positively impact the success of the agricultural season and strengthen food security for the Sudanese people. He praised the farmers’ efforts in this regard.
He also extended congratulations to the Commander-in-Chief for the victories achieved by the Armed Forces and their allied forces, expressing hope for peace, stability, and security to prevail in the country.
