Foreign Minister Urges Chinese Companies to Contribute to Reconstruction

Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Omar Mohamed Ahmed Siddig, praised the bilateral relations between Sudan and China, stressing that China is an important strategic partner.

He expressed his hope that Chinese companies would contribute to the reconstruction and rebuilding efforts in Sudan, citing their extensive expertise in this field.

During a farewell ceremony organized by the Sudanese community in cooperation with the Sudanese Embassy in Beijing to mark the end of his term, the minister emphasized that the Sudanese people’s aspirations for peace, stability, and a dignified life remain a top priority. He noted that achieving this requires significant effort—not only from the government but from all Sudanese citizens.

He spoke about the scale of destruction across the country caused by the rebel Rapid Support Forces and their backers, describing it as systematic devastation. “What is happening cannot be countered by individual or official efforts alone; it requires a united national stance,” he said.

He also commended the role of the Sudanese Armed Forces in confronting and repelling the rebellion.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Sudanese Mission in Beijing, Maymouna Ahmed Khalid, praised Ambassador Omar Siddig for his efforts in strengthening Sudan-China relations. Engineer Mohamed Abdel Rahim, representing the Sudanese community in Beijing, thanked the ambassador for his continued cooperation with the community, support for its activities, and care for Sudanese students in China.
