Minister of Energy Condemns Militia Attack on Storage Facilities in Port Sudan

Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naim, condemned the terrorist attacks that targeted strategic fuel depots in Port Sudan on Monday. This statement came during his field inspection of firefighting operations at the site to contain the blaze that initially broke out in the diesel storage facilities and then spread to adjacent fuel depots.
The Civil Defense Police are actively working to contain the fires, which were clearly aimed at the total destruction of the largest storage facilities in the state. At the time of this report, the fire was still raging, and efforts were ongoing to prevent its spread and avert a potential disaster in the area.
The minister stated that this attack adds to the dark record of criminals who continue to target public and civilian infrastructure in Sudan—facilities that directly affect the lives of ordinary citizens. He emphasized that the goal appears to be the disruption of life in the country, reflecting the determination of these militias and their collaborators to harm Sudanese citizens in their lives, property, and access to essential services.
However, he affirmed that the hands of Sudanese people who built these facilities are fully capable of rebuilding, no matter how tyrannical the criminals may be.
