Understandings Between the Mineral Resources Authority and Faisal Bank to Support Mining

The Director-General of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Tahir Omar, discussed with a high-level delegation from Faisal Bank, headed by Director-General Amin Al-Fadil Shubayka, ways to strengthen joint cooperation in supporting and financing the mining sector and expanding banking services for traditional miners.
The bank’s delegation included Mohamed Abu Bakr Ibrahim, Director of Corporate, Institutional, and Investment Affairs, and Mohib Mohamed Hamid, Director of the Institutions Branch in Port Sudan. From the company’s side, the meeting included Dr. Miqdad, Assistant Director-General for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Geological Advisor Othman Suleiman Hamad, Assistant Director-General for Technical Affairs.
Mohamed Tahir Omar stressed the importance of opening new financing channels for mining companies and providing banking facilities that contribute to the stability and growth of the sector. He also emphasized the need to establish banking branches in mining areas to offer financial services to miners.
For his part, Amin Al-Fadil Shubayka expressed Faisal Bank’s readiness to engage in the mining sector and contribute to providing innovative financial solutions. He pointed to the bank’s development of smart applications like “Fawry” for miners, aligning with the state’s general direction toward digital transformation and financial inclusion.
Shubayka affirmed that this step stems from the significance of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company as a key player in supporting the national economy and a strategic partner in achieving sustainable development.
