Apple Collects $10 Billion in App Store Commissions in the U.S

A new analysis by mobile app analytics company Appfigures has revealed that Apple collected more than $10 billion in commissions from user downloads of apps on its U.S. App Store over the past year.
Appfigures estimates that App Store commission revenues in the U.S. doubled between 2020 and 2024. In 2020, these commissions totaled only $4.76 billion, while in 2024, they reached over $10.1 billion.
According to Appfigures data, app developers on the U.S. App Store generated total revenues of $33.68 billion through the sale of apps and games using Apple’s payment system last year. After deducting Apple’s share, developers received $23.57 billion.
