Airstrikes on El Geneina Airport Destroy Militia Military Equipment

Warplanes carried out airstrikes on El Geneina Airport, the capital of West Darfur State. Field sources reported that Hemeti’s forces plan to shift their operations to the airport known as Martyr Sabira Airport, due to damage sustained by Nyala Airport in South Darfur State.

Sources told Al-Tara Sudan that the airstrikes, conducted by a warplane belonging to the Sudanese Armed Forces, caused significant damage to El Geneina Airport, particularly to facilities that were under construction.

A source told Al-Tara Sudan that the airstrikes completely destroyed military centers that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia was attempting to set up at El Geneina Airport, in search of an alternative airport after the early May 2025 air raid on Nyala Airport.

The source confirmed that the RSF had brought military equipment to El Geneina Airport following the attack on Nyala Airport, noting that the Air Force has carried out a series of airstrikes across the Darfur region.
