The Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Hossam Zaki, revealed the failure of efforts—both at the League level and bilaterally—to mend the rift between Sudan and the United Arab Emirates.
He added: “There are Arab efforts, both at the League level and bilaterally, being made to bridge the gap between Sudan and the UAE without infringing on the interests of either party. However, these efforts have not yet met with the desired success.”
According to Asharq Al-Awsat, Zaki described the crisis between Sudan and the UAE as “a difficult and complex issue.” He explained that “it may not affect the broader functioning of the Arab League,” but “it will certainly impact the smooth handling of discussions related to the Sudan crisis due to differing positions.”
