Former Foreign Minister: Politicians Have Sold Their Souls to the “Devil”

Former Sudanese Foreign Minister Al-Dardiri Mohamed Ahmed stated that the war in Sudan has shifted from a confrontation between the army and a rebel militia to a regional war. He affirmed that the recent events in Port Sudan, which occurred two or three days ago and are still ongoing, represent an aggression against Sudan by regional powers and countries with vested interests in prolonging and escalating the conflict.

In an interview with Al Jazeera Net, Al-Dardiri asserted that the division of Sudan into five states is absolutely not an option.

He also criticized Sudanese politicians, accusing some of selling their souls to the devil. He noted that the majority of Sudanese politicians support the army, with only a small minority betraying their country, as he put it.
