
The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Council of the League of Arab States, at the ministerial level, adopted an item supporting peace and development in Sudan. It emphasized the importance of solidarity with the Sudanese people and the preservation of the country’s territory, independence, unity, vital infrastructure, and sovereignty.
In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry noted that the Arab League Council stressed its rejection of interference in Sudan’s internal affairs and affirmed the need to preserve national institutions and prevent their collapse.
The Council of the Arab League held preparatory meetings at the level of foreign ministers ahead of the upcoming Arab and Economic Summits scheduled for next Saturday in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
According to the statement, the Council affirmed that Sudan’s security is an integral part of Arab national security, underscoring the vital role of the Arab League in defending the unity, integrity, and stability of all member states.
The Council called on all Arab countries and organizations to provide humanitarian and developmental support, in accordance with the statement of Sudan’s delegation head, Acting Foreign Minister Ambassador Hassan Al-Fadil. He briefed Arab foreign ministers on the situation in Sudan and ongoing humanitarian and developmental efforts to enhance the national response to current challenges.
Al-Fadil expressed Sudan’s appreciation for the continuous support from Arab nations, affirming the country’s commitment to strengthening engagement with the Arab League and its various institutions, particularly during the reconstruction phase.
