The United Nations Security Council has scheduled a special session on Sudan for next Monday morning, New York time.
A high-level diplomatic source told the Al-Muhaqiq news site that the upcoming session was requested by Sudan and will focus on recent developments, particularly attacks carried out by the rebel Rapid Support Forces using drones against civilian and vital infrastructure in the alternative capital Port Sudan and other regions across various Sudanese states.
The source indicated that Sudan’s mission to the United Nations will attend the session to expose the extent and severity of the attacks, emphasizing that the threat endangers not only Sudan’s security but the security of the entire region.
