Russia Says It Has Taken Two More Ukrainian Villages

Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Monday that its forces had taken the village of Novoolenivka in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, along with Marine, a settlement in the northern Sumy region, state news agency RIA reported.

Russia has been pushing through Ukraine’s industrial east since the beginning of the full-scale conflict in February 2022, while Moscow recently began pushing into Sumy region after ousting Kyiv’s forces from Russia’s neighboring Kursk region.
